Rockwall County Gameday – Gridiron Glory Playoff Update

In the opening week of playoffs, our local football teams set the stage for what promises to be an exciting postseason. The first games were a mix of nerves and excitement, as teams squared off against tough opponents. We saw incredible determination and solid teamwork, reminding us why we love this sport. Take a look at how each ROCO team performed and what’s next for them! ๐Ÿ‘€

Rockwall

On Friday, the Rockwall Yellowjacket Football Team went head-to-head with the Wylie Pirates. Rockwall entered this match with an 10-1 record and Wylie held an 6-5 record. The Rockwall Yellowjacket Football Team was determined to secure another bi-district championship and dominated quarter after quarter. Here’s the score breakdown:

  • 1st Quarter: Rockwall 22 – Wylie 0
  • 2nd Quarter: Rockwall 36 – Wylie 3
  • 3rd Quarter: Rockwall 50 – Wylie 3
  • 4th Quarter: Rockwall 50 – Wylie 10

Final Score: 50-10 for a Rockwall victory! ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŒŸ

On Saturday (11/18/23), the Rockwall Yellowjacket Football Team will face off against the Waxahachie Indians at 1pm at Allen Eagle Stadium. Waxahachie placed 3rd in their district bracket with a 5-3 record and beat out Midway last Friday. We anticipate this to be a great game since Rockwall fell to Waxahachie in the area round of playoffs in 2022 by just a single touchdown. The Yellowjackets are on a mission to redeem themselves while Waxahachie will attempt to secure another area championship title. If the Yellowjackets are successful, they will move on to regionals where they will face either Klein Cain or Westfield.

Rockwall-Heath

Last Friday, the Rockwall-Heath Football Team battled it out with the Sachse Mustangs. At the time, Rockwall-Heath held a 9-1 record while Sachse held an 8-2 record. The Rockwall-Heath Football Team was determined to advance to the next round, but the Mustangs would not go down without a fight. We don’t have a detailed score breakdown for this game, but the final score reveals that both teams fought with everything they had. In the end, the Hawks were victorious and will be advancing to regionals!

Final Score: Rockwall-Heath 56 – Sachse 42 ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŒŸ

On Friday (11/17/23), the Rockwall-Heath Football Team will face off against the Duncanville Panthers at 7pm at McKinney ISD Stadium. Duncanville placed 2nd in their district bracket with a 6-1 record and beat out Hutto last Friday. We anticipate this to be a great game since Duncanville was the winner of last year’s state championship. The Hawks have a huge hurdle to overcome since Duncanville is on a mission to secure back-to-back state championship titles. If the Hawks are successful, they will move on to regionals where they will face either Klein Collins or The Woodlands.

Dallas Christian

On Friday (11/10/23), the Dallas Christian Chargers went head-to-head with Lake Country Christian School of Fort Worth. Dallas Christian entered this match with an 10-0 record while Lake Country held a 4-6 record.
