Rockwall County Gameday – Hoop Highlights Basketball Update
Compared to previous articles, we’re making some changes to how we present each team’s scores every week. With the Hoop Highlights series you can expect to see all your favorite teams scores and updates located in one place. Yes, that’s right! We will be posting updates for Rockwall, Rockwall-Heath, Royse City, Heritage Christian, and Dallas Christian all in one spot. This also includes girls and boys teams!

Without further ado, let’s get into the nitty gritty!
ROCKWALL
BOYS
This past weekend, the Rockwall Yellowjacket Basketball team participated in the Austin Anderson Classic. During this tournament, the Yellowjackets went head-to-head with Kingwood, Dakota Ridge, Westlake, and Cypress Falls.
On Thursday (11/30) the Yellowjackets defeated Kingwood 44-33. They went on later that night to defeat Dakota Ridge 43-40.
On Friday (12/1), the Yellowjackets fell to Westlake 55-38. Since this was a tournament not many details are available. However by the looks of the recap video on MaxPreps, it appears the Yellowjackets held their own really well against Westlake until midway through the 4th quarter.
On Saturday (12/2), the Yellowjackets took on Cypress Falls. It was a tough fought battle and a close game, but in the end the Yellowjackets fell to the Eagles 47-45. They ended this match with 23 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, a 39% field goal percentage, a 36% three pointer percentage, and a 64% free throw percentage.
Tonight, the Yellowjackets will face off against the Plano East Panthers at RHS. Tip off is at 7pm.
GIRLS
This past weekend, the Rockwall Lady Jacket Basketball team participated in the Bishop Lynch Knight of Columbus Basketball Tournament. During this tournament, the Lady Jackets went head-to-head with Ursuline Academy, Colleyville Heritage, and Celina.
On Thursday (11/30) the Lady Jackets defeated Ursuline 58-47. They ended this game with 38 rebounds, 11 assists, 8 steals, 1 block, a 38% field goal percentage, a 33% three pointer percentage, and a 67% free throw percentage.
On Friday (12/1), the Lady Jackets fell to Colleyville 47-39. The Lady Jackets put up a fight, especially during the 2nd quarter. However, the Colleyville Panthers secured a victory leading by just 8 points.
On Saturday (12/2), the Lady Jackets took on Celina. It was a tough fought battle and a close game, and in the end the Lady Jackets won 55-43. They ended this match with 38 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 steals, 1 block, a 37% field goal percentage, a 42% three pointer percentage, and a 39% free throw percentage.
Tonight, the Lady Jackets will face off against the Allen Eagles in Allen at 6pm.
ROCKWALL-HEATH
BOYS
This past weekend, the Rockwall-Heath Hawk Basketball team participated in the Wolfforth Frenship Classic. During this tournament, the Yellowjackets went head-to-head with Brownfield, Midland, Palo Duro, and Wolfforth Frenship.
It was a very successful weekend for the Hawks as they returned home with 3 wins. On Thursday (11/30) the Yellowjackets defeated Brownfield 69-45. They went on later that night to defeat Midland 90-43.
On Friday (12/1), the Hawks took on Palo Duro and ended the night with another big victory. They defeated Palo Duro 91-59. We want to give a big shoutout to Senior Grayson Dorsey for putting up 26 points and sinking 8 three pointers! Senior Jackson Sanders put up another 14 points and sank 4 three pointers with a 57% 3 point percentage. It was also a night for freshmen Ryan Hampton and Paxton Ivy. Hampton put up 17 points and sank 3 three pointers with a 60% three point average while Ivy put up 11 points and 3 three pointers for a 60% three point average.
On Saturday (12/2), the Hawks took on Wolfforth Frenship. It was a tough fought battle and a close game, but in the end the Hawks fell to the Tigers 83-73. They ended this match with 20 rebounds, 19 assists, 5 steals, a 51% field goal percentage, a 44% three pointer percentage, and a 27% free throw percentage.
Tonight, the Hawks will face off against the Frisco Reedy Lions at RHHS. Tip off is at 8pm according to MaxPreps.
GIRLS
This past Friday, the Rockwall-Heath Lady Hawk Basketball team defeated the Newman Smith Trojans of Carrolton 51-33.
At this time, no specific stats are available for this game. However, we do know that it was Senior Night and wanted to congratulate the seniors on a successful night!
Also, in case you missed it – the Lady Hawks have opened their spirit shop for the season, so grab your gear while you can!
Tonight, the Lady Hawks will face off against the Lake Highlands Wildcats in Dallas at 6:30pm.
ROYSE CITY
BOYS
This past weekend, the Royse City Bulldog Basketball team participated in the Craig Bowers Memorial Tournament. During this tournament, the Yellowjackets went head-to-head with Lakeview Centennial, Bryan Adams, and Hallsville.
It was a great weekend for the Bulldogs as they returned home with 3 new wins under their belt! On Thursday (11/30) the Bulldogs defeated Lakeview Centennial 78-62. They ended this match with 25 rebounds, 13 assists, 20 steals, a 49% field goal percentage, a 20% three pointer percentage, and a 68% free throw percentage.
On Friday (12/1), the Bulldogs defeated Bryan Adams 86-46. Unfortunately, no stats are available on this game at this time.
On Saturday (12/2), the Bulldogs took on the Hallsville Bobcats. It was a tough fought battle and a close game, but in the end the Bulldogs emerged victorious with a final score of 54-51. They ended this match with 24 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, a 40% field goal percentage, a 36% three pointer percentage, and an 88% free throw percentage.
This Friday, the Bulldogs will face off against the Poteet Pirates in Mesquite. Tip off is at 7pm according to MaxPreps.
GIRLS
This past weekend, the Royse City Lady Bulldog Basketball team participated in the Craig Bowers Memorial Tournament. During this tournament, the Lady Bulldogs went head-to-head with Greenville, Prestonwood Christian, Tyler, Chisholm Trail, and Richardson.
On Thursday (11/30) the Lady Bulldogs defeated Greenville 78-23. They ended this game with 36 rebounds, 20 assists, 15 steals, 1 block, a 59% field goal percentage, a 38% three pointer percentage, and a 57% free throw percentage. Later that night, they also went on to defeat Prestonwood Christian 49-38.
On Friday (12/1), the Lady Bulldogs defeated Tyler 53-28. They ended this game with 28 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 steals, 1 block, a 54% field goal percentage, a 50% three pointer percentage, and a 50% free throw percentage. Later that night, they also went on to defeat Chisholm Trail 45-17.
On Saturday (12/2), the Lady Bulldogs took on the Richardson Eagles and won 51-28. It was a great weekend for the Lady Bulldogs as they return home 5-0!
Tonight, the Lady Bulldogs will face off against the Memorial High School Warriors in Frisco at 6:15pm.
DALLAS CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
BOYS
This past Friday, the Dallas Christian Charger Basketball team defeated Garland Christian Academy 66-46. At this time, no further stats are available for this game.
According to MaxPreps, the Chargers next pre-season game is on 12/18/23 against the Cistercian Hawks of Irving at 1:30pm in Irving. The Chargers are set to begin district play shortly after on 1/5/24!
GIRLS
This past weekend, the Dallas Christian Lady Charger Basketball team participated in the Craig Bowers Memorial Tournament. During this tournament, the Lady Chargers went head-to-head with Tyler Legacy, Mt. Pleasant, Dunbar, and Richardson.
On Thursday (11/30) the Lady Chargers went head-to-head with Tyler Legacy. It was a tough fought battle and a close game, but in the end the Chargers fell to the Raiders 41-32. We still want to give a big shoutout to Senior Jackie Schlegel for putting up 12 points, securing 5 rebounds, and 3 steals! Juniors Megan Greer and Macie Perkins put up another 12 points and sank 2 three pointers with a combined 75% three point percentage. Perkins also secured 10 rebounds and 3 blocks! Although the Chargers lost to the Raiders, they ended their night with a 29-26 victory against Mt. Pleasant.
On Friday (12/1), the Lady Chargers took on the Dunbar Wildcats and the Richardson Eagles. Both of which resulted in a loss, but the stats are impressive! They ended their night with 71 points, 7 three pointers, 64 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 10 steals.
This Thursday (12/7), the Lady Chargers will face off against the Spruce Timberwolves in Dallas at 6:00pm.
HERITAGE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
BOYS
This past Thursday, the Heritage Christian Eagle Basketball team fell to Lakehill Prep 44-32. At this time, no further stats are available for this game.
Tonight, the Eagles will face off against Nazarene Christian Academy at HCA at 6:00pm.
GIRLS
This past Friday, the Heritage Christian Lady Eagle Basketball team defeated Waxahachie Prep 37-36. At this time, no further stats are available for this game.
