In the opening week of playoffs, our local volleyball teams set the stage for what promises to be an exciting postseason. The first matches were a mix of nerves and excitement, as teams squared off against tough opponents. We saw incredible determination and solid teamwork, reminding us why we love this sport. Rockwall

On Monday, the Rockwall Yellowjacket Volleyball Team went head-to-head with the Rowlett Eagles. Rockwall entered this match with an 12-0 record and Rowlett held an 8-7 record. The Rockwall Yellowjacket Volleyball was determined to secure another bi-district championship and quickly won the match in 3 sets. Here’s the score breakdown:

  • 1st Set: Rockwall 25 – Rowlett 12
  • 2nd Set: Rockwall 25 – Rowlett 9 
  • 3rd Set: Rockwall 25 – Rowlett 14

Final Score: 3-0 for a Rockwall victory! 🏐🧑

Tomorrow (11/2/23), the Rockwall Yellowjacket Volleyball Team will face off against the Cedar Hill Longhorns. Cedar Hill placed 2nd in their district bracket with a 10-4 record and beat out Copperas Cove on Tuesday. If the Yellowjackets are successful, they will move on to the regional quarterfinals where they will face either Sachse or Weiss. 

Rockwall-Heath

On Monday, the Rockwall-Heath Volleyball Team battled it out with the Wylie East Raiders. At the time, Rockwall-Heath held an 8-4 record while Wylie East held a 14-2 record. The Rockwall-Heath Volleyball Team gave it their all and fought through some fierce competition. However, they fell to Wylie East at the end of the 5th set and have been eliminated from the playoff bracket. Let’s review the score breakdown: 

  • 1st Set: Rockwall-Heath 27 – Wylie East 25
  • 2nd Set: Rockwall-Heath 25 – Wylie East 27
  • 3rd Set: Rockwall-Heath 21 – Wylie East 25
  • 4th Set: Rockwall-Heath 25 – Wylie East 23
  • 5th Set: Rockwall-Heath 14 – Wylie East 16

While it may not be the end result that the Hawks were looking for, we are so proud of the way they fought for each point. Royse City

On Monday, the Royse City Volleyball Team clashed against the Wylie Pirates. Royse City entered this match with a 9-3 record while Wylie held a 13-3 record. The Royse City Volleyball Team was determined to secure a bi-district championship and fought for every point over the course of 4 sets. In the end, they were victorious! Here’s the score breakdown:

  • 1st Set: Royse City 16 – Wylie 25
  • 2nd Set: Royse City 25 – Wylie 18
  • 3rd Set: Royse City 25 – Wylie 21
  • 4th Set: Royse City 25 – Wylie 21

Later today, the Royse City Volleyball Team will face off against the Mansfield Tigers. Mansfield placed 1st in their district bracket with an 11-3 record and beat out Hutto on Tuesday. If the Bulldogs are victorious, they will move on to the regional quarterfinals where they will face either Midway or Wylie East. 

Dallas Christian

On Monday, the Dallas Christian Chargers went head-to-head with Trinity Christian School. Dallas Christian entered this match with an 11-3 record while Trinity Christian held an 8-4 record. Dallas Christian Volleyball was determined to secure their spot in the next round and fought for every point over the course of 4 sets. In the end, they were victorious! Here’s the score breakdown:

  • 1st Set: Dallas Christian 19 – Trinity Christian 25
  • 2nd Set: Dallas Chrisitan 25 – Trinity Christian 14
  • 3rd Set: Dallas Christian 25 – Trinity Christian 21
  • 4th Set: Dallas Christian 25 – Trinity Christian 11

On Saturday, the Dallas Christian Volleyball Team will face off against Grace Prep Academy of Arlington. Grace Prep placed 1st in their district bracket with an 11-1 record and beat out The Brook Hill School of Bullard on Tuesday. If the Chargers are victorious, they will move on to the semifinals where they will face either Pantego Christian Academy of Arlington or Prince of Peace Christian School of Carrollton.

Heritage Christian Academy

Last night, the Heritage Christian Academy Volleyball Team battled it out with Providence Classical School. At the time, Heritage Christian held a 6-4 record while Providence Classical School held a 14-0 record. The Heritage Christian Volleyball Team gave it their all and fought through some fierce competition. However, they fell to Providence and will not be advancing. Let’s review the score breakdown: 

  • 1st Set: Heritage Christian 14 – Providence Classical 25
  • 2nd Set: Heritage Christian 18 – Providence Classical 25
  • 3rd Set: Heritage Christian 16 – Providence Classical 25
