Rockwall County Gameday is dedicated to bringing you the latest updates on the journeys of our hometown volleyball teams as they chase their playoff dreams. Each week, we’ve be your guide through each intense rally and hard-fought match as our local volleyball players progressed through playoffs.
Spike Summary Playoff Update
In week 3 of playoffs, the action was intense, the opponents were tough, and adrenaline was pumping. Sadly, we must report that both Rockwall and Royse City will not be advancing to the next round. However, through every serve, spike, and dig, these athletes displayed incredible determination and passion for the sport of volleyball and their community. We are so proud of what these young ladies have accomplished this season! Let’s dive into their final match of the 2023-2024 volleyball season.
Rockwall
On Tuesday, the Rockwall Yellowjacket Volleyball Team went head-to-head with the Sachse Mustangs. The Rockwall Yellowjacket Volleyball Team started out strong winning the first set, but the Mustangs came back with a vengeance. In the end, the Yellowjackets fell to the Mustangs over 4 sets. Here’s the score breakdown:
- 1st Set: Rockwall 25 – Sachse 23
- 2nd Set: Rockwall 21 – Sachse 25
- 3rd Set: Rockwall 22 – Sachse 25
- 4th Set: Rockwall 17 – Sachse 25
Final Score: 1-3 in favor of Sachse
While it may not be the end result that the Yellowjackets were looking for, we are so proud of the way they fought for each point. We congratulate this group of determined young ladies for their successes and progress over the course of this season. At Rockwall County Gameday, we are excited to see what the Yellowjacket Volleyball Team will accomplish next year! 🏐🧡
Royse City
Tuesday, the Royse City Volleyball Team clashed against the Wylie East Raiders. Wylie East started out strong, winning the first set, but the Royse City Volleyball Team bounced back and won the next set. Both teams went back and forth over 5 set. In the end, the Bulldogs fell to the Raiders by just 5 points. Here’s the score breakdown:
- 1st Set: Royse City 19 – Wylie East 25
- 2nd Set: Royse City 25 – Wylie East 22
- 3rd Set: Royse City 27 – Wylie East 25
- 4th Set: Royse City 19 – Wylie East 25
- 5th Set: Royse City 10 – Wylie East 15
Final Score: 2-3 in favor of Wylie East
We know this is not the end result that the Bulldogs were looking for. However, we are so proud of the way they fought through every set this season. The Royse City Volleyball Team is a great group of determined young ladies who will be eager to return to playoffs next year. 🏐💛
